Fiona Hall's- Creation of Adam

From the series titled Genesis by Fiona Hall comes the work "creation of Adam" which explores a unique way of producing works of art. She uses gelatine silver photography to produce an effective texture and a particular style of photos. To create this distinctive look, Hall has suspended silver salts in gelatine over acetate or resin coated paper and allowed it to dry. She has being able to achieve a rough and sketchy appearance and has formed a powerful interpretation of the "Creation of Adam".

Tracey Moffat-Junk for Code

This image is from her best known series “Something More” from 1989. the series has the style of a set of stills for a film about the trials of a poor but restless ‘coloured’ girl in rural Australia who wants ‘something more’ out of life than her lot in the back-blocks. These studio based works of Moffat has resulted in a combination of cinema, photography and the visual arts. Moffat manipulates the background of the photograph by painting on the surface of the photographic paper, whilst leaving the motorbike and the legs of the woman in the foreground of the photograph untouched.
