This is a painting that I did at school in year 9 in visual arts. We were asked to complete a landscape painting using oil paints, painting from a photo that we had brought into class for the task. The painting is of the front paddock of the family property and focuses on an old pine tree. The painting originally had other features such as livestock in the foreground but because of the unique shape and way that the tree had grown I decided to leave everything else out of the painting. This is one of the first paintings I ever did and because I enjoyed painting it so much it influenced the path i am beginning now, architecture.
B: AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

This is a piece of architecture that I admire for the way in which it has explored all possibilities and stretched the boundaries of the architecture profession. It was first brought to my attention when chatting to a 3rd year architecture student not long ago and I believe it may influence me in my future works.
